The Graham Boeckh Foundation announces the recipient of the second annual Dr. Samarthji Lal award for mental health research: Dr. Todd Woodward, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, UBC, and Research Scientist, BC Mental Health and Addictions Research Institute (BCMHARI).
Dr. Woodward was selected through an open, Canada-wide competition, followed by an international review. This year presented strong competition and Dr. Woodward was a standout amongst the applicants. The review panel’s selection was based on alignment with the award criteria and overall excellence of his nomination submission.
Dr. Woodward’s award was presented by the Boeckh family, Dr. Maureen Kiely (Lal), and by the Dr. Sam Lal award partner, the Canadian College of Neuropsycho-pharmacology (represented by its President, Dr. Marco Leyton).
Dr. Woodward has chosen to direct his $25,000 prize to the research programs at the BCMHARI.
